Manistique TOPS group receives recognition

MANISTIQUE – Take Off Pounds Sensibly President Rick Danforth recently awarded Manistique TOPS MI 0628 with the 2018 Blue Ribbon Award.

The Blue-Ribbon Award is given to a Chapter who is in good standing, with an overall Chapter weight loss, new member registrations and members who have received new KOPS status (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly).

Danforth also recognized Jeanne Jenerou for her 50 years in TOPS.

In 2017, Jean Selling was recognized for her 50th year in TOPS and KOPS, along with recognition to MI 0628 Chapter celebrating their 50th year.

Both are original members of the Manistique TOPS chapter. The chapter stated that their dedication to supporting members and providing positive encouragement element has been unparalleled and an important factor for members, past and present, on their weight-loss journey.

As the Manistique TOPS Chapter enters a new year, they noted that they will continue to focus on supporting members, existing and new, as they take off and keep off pounds sensibly.

As TOPS President Danforth noted “weight loss does not need to be complicated, it is a matter of eating sensibly and in moderation and being accountable”.

The TOPS weight loss campaign 2019 theme is “Seeds of Change”.

“We first need to plant the seed of change in ourselves and our chapter,” said Deb Leblanc, TOPS member.

“We hope if you are thinking about weight loss, which can be a scary thought of trying to do on your own, you will consider visiting Manistique TOPS and let us help you on your journey to weight loss. “

Manistique TOPS chapter meets in the basement of St. Albans Church, located at the intersection of Oak and Range streets in Manistique every Wednesday. The meetings start at 6 p.m. with weigh in starting at 5 p.m.
