Mildred A. Rohde Mildred A. Rohde MANISTIQUE – Mildred Ann Rohde, 88, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Woodland Assisted Living with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 21, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., daughter of Charles and Celia (Pim) Patterson. She was raised in Detroit and attended Mackenzie High School.

On Aug. 27, 1953, she married Paul Rohde and they have been married for 65 years. They later moved with their family to Newberry and finally to Manistique in 1978.

Mildred held many jobs over the years. She was most notably a bookkeeper for their business, Putvin Drug Store. She also delivered rocker panels to body shops for her father’s business when she was in Detroit, worked for Michigan Bell, was a dispatcher for Burkland Trucking Company, a tax preparer for H&R Block, and driver for the Department of Social Services.

She loved to read, sew, cook and bake; she enjoyed playing the slot machines at the casino and socializing with friends; she and her husband Paul enjoyed their winter vacations in Florida and especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband; son, Mark (Cathy) Rohde of Manistique, Mich.; daughter, Ann (Mick) Manser of Damascus, Ohio; brother, Bruce (Andi) Patterson of Lansing, Mich.; sister, Barbara Carmichael of East Lansing, Mich.; son-in-law, Craig Longnecker of Lansing; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kris Longnecker; twin sister, Dorothy Peters; and infant granddaughter Amalia.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, at the Fausett Family Funeral Home in Manistique. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with Eleanor Russey officiating. Memorial donations can be directed to Eva Burrell Animal Shelter.
